3rd and 4th Class had a lovely morning walk with Junior and Senior Infants today. We got to have a look around the village at the preparations for the local Sheep Festival. We are all very excited for the weekend ahead 🐑

3rd and 4th Class had a great afternoon today with 5th Class who taught us how to use the Bee Bots. We had a great time learning how to program together and even worked through some tricky maizes. Our problem solving skills were put to the test! Thank you to 5th Class and Mr Nally for teaching us and organising the visit of the Bee Bots today.

We had great fun today playing maths games in our groups. We’re working hard on our multiplication tables this term.

We enjoyed a mindful break today during our SPHE lesson on wellbeing. The Body Scanner video helped us to regulate our body and relax.

3rd and 4th Class enjoyed using the Chromebooks this afternoon to find facts about our chosen countries on the classroom globe. We hope to do lots of project work this year using the Chromebooks to support us.

What a wonderful way to end our last full week at school! We all really enjoyed our tour from start to finish!

This afternoon we played board games together. It was a change from yesterday's activity!

We have finished our weeks of buddy reading with junior and senior infants. They read their book bag books to us. We showed them our novel. Ms. Toolan also organised a 'buddy chat' with our elbows touching.

We created pictures of ice cream cone close ups. It was fun decorating them!

3rd and 4th had fun with the new maths resources. We played Crazy Eights with the new card packs and had some competitive fun! 🃏♠️♥️♦️♣️

Today we welcomed Claire McDonagh to our school. She spoke to us about her book. The theme is football and it is an interactive story where you choose what happens on the pitch. We worked in groups to play the game and score as much as possible!

We are continuing to read our class novel The Extincts. We created new covers for the book.

Our chapter on fieldwork coincided nicely with good weather! We used hula hoops to focus our attention on a small area.

Today we had an unusual art lesson. We took a walk up the lane near the school. Each pair had a colour card with six different shades. The challenge was to find a matching item for each colour from nature. There was lots of discussion and changing of items! https://canva.link/zw933sf6ke5ykgr

Our art is unusual as we used white markers and pencils on a black background. We sponge painted the rabbits before putting them on the background.

Pat has started coaching with us. Today we concentrated on getting away from our marker, control of the ball and being able to move away quickly.
