Thank you to Shauna and our student council that organised incredible edible packs to come to our school in collaboration with Agriware. In February we will be learning all bout sowing and growing vegetables. Students will learn the process of how plants grow to produce our fruit and vegetables They will be encouraged to take responsibility for the crops they sew, caring for them, and ensuring they have all that they need to grow In addition, they will learn to identify the p

First and second class went for a walk around Tubbercurry. We went to St. Bridget’s hall and the recycling centre.

First and second class were so fortunate to be invited to Tubbercurry community library. We met Liz Weir, an author and storyteller from Northern Ireland. We sang songs and listened to her stories. Thank you to Tubbercurry library for inviting us for this special visit.

We used measuring tapes, trundle wheels and meter sticks.

Today is safer internet day. First and second class logged onto the website http://webwise.ie . We watched Ruby and Archie - the html hero’s. They have very cool rap songs about internet safety.

We received our pennant today for all of the wonderful farm safety work that our school has engaged with this term. We have received the first one for Animal Safety and Wellbeing from AgriKids. We hope to earn more pennants in the future towards eventually earning an overall Farm Safety Flag for our school. Well done to everyone for all of their dedication to farm safety in our school community! Keep up the great work! 👏 🐑 🐄

This week we are focusing on our spellings. We use our ‘words to watch’ wall for help.

On Thursday third class came to our room and we played a new game called Squirrel. The person with the most saved acorns in the end won the game.

On Wednesday we played Maths board games using fractions.

On Tuesday senior infants came to our classroom and we taught them the bus ride game using addition to 20.

On Monday we played a game called Place Value Wars.

While the senior girls were at their football match last week, some of the boys from their room came to teach us the rules and how to play some board games like scrabble and the cube. Thank you boys. We had great fun.
