This week first and second class have been learning all about our locality. We wrote in our copies about the Ox mountains, the Mad river and the Mill Cafe. Today we went for a walk to the cafe. There were some customers there and they enjoyed listening to what we had written in our copies about Cloonacool. We also sang a song.

Our Student Council elections took place last Friday in Mr Nally's room. We are delighted to announce that we have elected two new members from both 4th and 5th class, along with one new member from 6th class. Meet your new Student Council representatives: 4th Class: Rachel & Luke 5th Class: Grace & Mark 6th Class: Jake Adam & Ciara will be returning for another year. We would like to give a special thanks to everyone who participated and spoke during Friday's elections.

So much fun this afternoon with children from 5th & 6th Class playing with the Bee Bots. Thanks Mr. Nally for providing us with this opportunity.

Junior & Senior Infants enjoyed our first walk of this school year this morning. We were delighted to have 3rd & 4th Class join us. We discussed road safety and how to stay safe on footpaths. We took shelter from the rain in the Sheep Festival marquee. We also observed signs of early Autumn. Lots of learning and making new friends.

3rd and 4th Class had a lovely morning walk with Junior and Senior Infants today. We got to have a look around the village at the preparations for the local Sheep Festival. We are all very excited for the weekend ahead 🐑

3rd and 4th Class had a great afternoon today with 5th Class who taught us how to use the Bee Bots. We had a great time learning how to program together and even worked through some tricky maizes. Our problem solving skills were put to the test! Thank you to 5th Class and Mr Nally for teaching us and organising the visit of the Bee Bots today.

Fifth and sixth class are learning the basics of coding and sequencing using bee-bots. We got the opportunity to work these programmable floor robots using maps and obstacle courses. First and second class are looking forward to more problem - solving opportunities using Bee-bots.

We had great fun today playing maths games in our groups. We’re working hard on our multiplication tables this term.

We had surprise visitors to our classroom this morning. Lots of fun stroking our 3 new friends. Bunnies are so cute.

We enjoyed a mindful break today during our SPHE lesson on wellbeing. The Body Scanner video helped us to regulate our body and relax.

3rd and 4th Class enjoyed using the Chromebooks this afternoon to find facts about our chosen countries on the classroom globe. We hope to do lots of project work this year using the Chromebooks to support us.

Today we welcomed 5 new Junior Infants to our lovely school. We hope they will be very happy.

The Department of Education and Youth carried out this survey to find out about the type of schools that parents/guardians prefer. We are now sharing our school’s survey results with you. We have had lots of fun this June from eating outside in the sun to sports day in the rain. We worked hard and enjoyed fun treats, our school tour and golden time. A lovely year had by all. We wish Senior Infants well as they move on to 1st class and we look forward to welcoming our new Junior Infants in September. Thank you to everyone who made this school year fun for all. We had lots of fun together over the past few days in 5th and 6th Class. Some highlights were our school tour to Forest Park and our holiday budgeting projects. Zipit and Boda Borg were great fun on Friday!

The Parents Association has some important dates for your diary which we need your help and support with.
