5th and 6th Class enjoyed lots of games and opportunities for oral language in pairs and groups today during our Gaeilge lesson. We are working hard on our comhrá grúpa whilst revising each topic area.

Congratulations to Ben who won the Book Fair prize in our room. His alligator cover was lovely!

After 21 days we welcomed 2 baby chicks to our classroom this morning. We are hoping for one more before our holidays. Lots of fun and learning today in Junior and Senior Infants.

We would like to say a big Go raibh maith agaibh/thank you to everyone who took part in the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Tuesday. There was a great turn out from St. Michael's NS. Our water colour paintings are now on display in the GP room. We also wrote reports about our time with Karen.

We had fun working with clay. We spent some time rolling and twisting and experimenting with it first. Then we shaped a pizza. Finally we put the toppings on the pizza.🍕 Now we are waiting for them to dry.

Congratulations to the Parents Association and all who participated in the St Patrick's Day parade in Aclare. The display won second place and received a lovely trophy 🏆

Happy St. Patrick's weekend from Junior & Senior Infants.

The Parents' Association have arranged an entry in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Aclare this year with the theme of "The World Cup". Please ensure that parents/guardians remain at the parade with their children for the duration of the parade.

The Parents' Association have arranged for a Re-return bin to be placed in the spare classroom. Children are encouraged to bring in any eligible plastic bottles or aluminium cans for return. The money raised will go towards the Parents' Association.  Thank you all for your support.

Thank you to Shauna and our student council who organised incredible edible packs to come to our school in collaboration with Agriware . In February we will be learning all about sowing and growing vegetables. Students will learn the process of how plants grow to produce our fruit and vegetables They will be encouraged to take responsibility for the crops they sew, caring for them, and ensuring they have all that they need to grow In addition, they will learn to identify the

The food pyramid helps us with our food choices. We should eat lots from the base of the pyramid and less from each section as the pyramid gets narrower. This will helps us stay healthy.

Mark from Fresh Today and Elisha who is a nutritionist visited our school. They took feedback from the classes about food we like, changes we'd like and new items they will have. There will soon be partitions in the boxes to keep some foods separate and also changes to the pizzas. They reminded the children that meal options can be changed weekly and they are also trialling a monthly option that has included pesto pasta and chicken casserole.

We were learning about volcanoes in Geography. Today we did an experiment to see how volcanoes erupt. It was fun to watch the eruption!

Due to transport issues our Book Fair containers will not arrive until next week. Books will be on sale from Thursday March 19th until Monday March 23rd.
