We had a lovely day in the Infant classroom learning all about St. Brigid, colouring in crosses and designing her cloak. We also sang a song to her!

We learned all about St. Brigid today in 5th and 6th Class. We helped each other to make crosses to be blessed at mass on Sunday 1st February.

FAI Trials

Families
Our RSE lesson today was very appropriate. We were talking about families on Grandparents Day! In groups we found similarities and differences (this was hard) between families. We also said one thing we liked about our family.

Grandparents Mass
We had a lovely celebration of Grandparents Day in St Michael’s church this morning. Thank you to Fr Vincent for a very thoughtful mass. There was a huge crowd of grandparents, parents and friends present with us. What a wonderful way to start our day!

Light
Today we were experimenting with light. We used torches to investigate various materials. Were they transparent, translucent or opaque? We also had glass prisms. We made the spectrum by shining the light through them.

Catholic Schools Week 2026
This week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week. As well as lessons on the daily themes we will be attending mass on Thursday.

Fabric and Fibre 🧶🧵
We are working with fibres in visual arts at the moment. Each person has a loom and we are weaving on it. It is very enjoyable. A big thank you to Ms Healy who helped us when we were beginning to weave.

Today in RSE we were chatting about bullying behaviour. It is very important to: Say stop Get away Tell Keep telling It is also very important to tell if we see someone being treated badly. We worked in groups chatting about case studies.

Bring anything but a bag day
5th and 6th Class earned a choice day today after their brilliant work during term 1. They got to wear PJ’s or comfy clothes too. We had a French Breakfast and treats to celebrate our learning with Julien, enjoyed bringing anything but a bag to school, demonstrated lots of teamwork building our school robot, extra fun art and yard time. Well done on a great day everyone!
