🍂 Infant Assembly 🍂

Thank you to Ms Toolan and the Infants for a wonderful assembly this afternoon.

All of the Infants introduced themselves to the whole school.

They sang some lovely songs for us that link in with their September theme of Mé Féin and Autumn. We enjoyed listening to “Tá Teidí ag siúl’, and ‘The Leaves are Falling Down’.

Ms Toolan reminded us about bus safety and the 6th Class Bus Prefects re-introduced themselves to the whole school.

We spoke about the importance of wearing the school uniform especially the white t-shirt and school jumper.

We spoke about yard safety and the new designated yard areas to keep everyone safe and happy.

Ms Toolan reminded us of the importance of being safe when travelling to and from school. We always wear our helmet and hi-viz when cycling. We walk on the footpaths and wear a hi-viz.

We sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to everyone who recently celebrated a birthday.

Dolores, our new Green Schools Safety Officer came to visit. She will support Ms Toolan and the Green Schools Committee in their campaign to get a slow down area outside of our school. We will have a visit towards the end of the week to support our work on road safety too. Dolores was very impressed with our work so far and looks forward to working with us this year.

We hope to work alongside our local councillors, Green Schools Officer and the local authority to get slow down safety lines and pencils, a sign letting people know that there is a ‘school ahead’ and bus signs with parking outside of our school. We hope that all of this teamwork will pay off to keep us all safe.
