Thank you for the contributions to the food drive organised by the student council. The food has now been collected and will be distributed to those in need over the festive season.

5th and 6th Class enjoyed an interactive Christmas Maths Quiz on Zoom today with presenter Michelle Colloty. We really enjoyed the alphabet maths quiz and the dingbats!

Today we worked in groups of three. There were Christmas themed problems. Each group had a mix of 3rd & 4th. We worked hard together and enjoyed solving them.

Thank you to Martina who came in to teach us all about our local area today. We had great fun making our Christmas Wreath using natural materials and also learned how to make a rush candle. We really enjoyed making the bird feeders too. We had a great afternoon in 5th and 6th Class.

The beautiful Christmas cards have arrived. Packs will be coming home this afternoon.

We received our pennant today for all of the wonderful farm safety work that our school has engaged with this term. We have received the first one for Animal Safety and Wellbeing from AgriKids. We hope to earn more pennants in the future towards eventually earning an overall Farm Safety Flag for our school. Well done to everyone for all of their dedication to farm safety in our school community! Keep up the great work! 👏 🐑 🐄

This week we are focusing on our spellings. We use our ‘words to watch’ wall for help.

Ciarán from Green Schools visited our school today to meet with 5th & 6th class. We are revisiting our travel theme for the 3rd time and we discussed safety improvements that we would like seen made to the roads approaching our school. All the children got a chance to talk with Ciarán and highlight their concerns. Ciarán spoke with our Principal Ms. Whitehead and Ms Toolan after the walkability audit. He will be in touch with us again in the new year to discuss his findings

Today we enjoyed a fun PE lesson with our TY student Émer working on our ball skills. Lots of fun was had by all the Infants. Thank you Émer.

Today we met a scientist who speaks to people about health. He reminded us about keeping ourselves healthy. Hygiene is very important. We also protect our classmates and the community when we are careful.

The Student Council went with Ms Whitehead and Shauna to the Mill Cafe today to have a working lunch. Thank you to the cafe for the lovely treats! 🍰

On a very chilly day we were kept warm with plenty of running! We had to listen very carefully to coach's instructions .

Today 3rd & 4th classes were learning about the different ways energy is produced. More renewable resources are used now - solar panels, wind energy and hydro-electricity. We will be trying to remember to always turn lights off when we leave our classroom.

Thank you for a great PE session today Nathaniel. We had great fun in 5th and 6th Class with the obstacle courses and it provided a great opportunity for teamwork skills!
